Risk, coordination, readiness

Layoffs carry more than a human cost.

Poorly planned workforce reductions can create operational, reputational, and compliance risk. From notice requirements and severance coordination to employee communications and documentation, the details matter.

well transitioned™ helps your team coordinate the process, prepare leaders, and work alongside HR and legal counsel so the layoff is executed thoughtfully and responsibly.

Notice & Timing Considerations

Help teams prepare for notice requirements, timing considerations, communication sequencing, and key execution dates.

Severance & Separation Coordination

Coordinate the operational details surrounding severance, separation materials, benefits information, and employee handoffs.

Documentation & Communication Readiness

Prepare leaders, documentation, employee communications, and internal teams before the first conversation begins.

We help manage the process. Your legal counsel manages the law. Together, the organization is better prepared for the moment.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is first-hour outplacement?

Most outplacement begins days or weeks after someone is let go. With well transitioned™, each person leaving is contacted by their own career coach within the first hour of receiving the news. The first conversation focuses on stability. The job search comes next.

How is this different from traditional outplacement?

Traditional programs often mean a portal, group webinars, or a coach for a fixed 30, 60 or 90 days. We assign one dedicated coach to each person, who stays with them from the first hour until they land their next role.

Do you support one person, or only large layoffs?

Both. Transition & Career Coaching works for a single separation or a full reduction in force. There is no minimum.

How much does it cost?

Coaching is priced per person, from $2,500 to $10,000 depending on the level of support, with volume pricing for groups of 10 or more. Layoff Planning & Execution starts at $25,000 per engagement. Coaching prices are published on our Solution page.

How quickly can support start?

Through Rapid Activation, a member of our team contacts you within the hour, and coaching can begin the same day.

Do you work with individuals directly?

We work with employers and HR leaders, who provide our coaching to the people they are letting go.

We've been on both sides of the conversation. We've led layoffs, and we've lived through them.

Early in my career, I was handed a list of 90 names. My job was to escort each person to a conference room, whose other door led to the parking garage. Afterward, I found them there, holding their boxes, crying. No one should have to stand in a parking lot alone.
